Bark on iOS

For some background info Bark on IOS uses a vpn to enforce, monitor, and block internet usage. If you try to turn the vpn off, it uses a feature called “Connect on Demand” which immediately turns the vpn back on and alerts your parents.

  • For the first step you want to fully power off your phone, then turn it back on. This will give you around 15-20 seconds to do step 2.
  • Go to settings, >> General >> VPN and Device management >> Bark VPN, then hit the (i) and toggle “Connect on Demand” This can have two possible outcomes.
  • (Very Unlikely) The VPN could just not turn on after this if you are lucky after this you would be done however still read step 2.
  • (Most Likely Outcome) What would most likely happen though is that the vpn will still turn on. To combat this simply fully power off the phone and turn it back on. Since we turned off connect on demand it will not connect when it is powered back on. This will not send an alert to your parents which is the best part
  • The bark vpn is very resilient and will do anything to turn back on. This occurs when switching from WiFi to cell service or vice versa. It will also occur when one leaves a stationary location such as a house or school(it won't turn back on if you stay inside a building). When this happens simply repeat the process for turning off the vpn.
